IMS: Poems of a moment

Ancient Sounds

In the heart of the forest,

in between the beech trees,

the wind blows,

and the old wood groans.

First Light

Morning sunlight shines through the trees

The forest’s jewel

Forgotten Moments

A gentle rain falls

and I see the years of my life

in each passing moment.

Dark Places

In the dark places of the forest

Where sun beams do not reach

Winter ice melts gently

Along the rock face

Trickle

          Trickle

Like dye dancing through a waterfall

Silence

In silence

I can't seem to remember

which conversations I have

with myself,

others.

My True Home

A birds sweet call

beckons me home again

Day’s End

The day comes to a close

and the winds calm.

As the darkness unfurls across the sky

stars sleep peacefully beneath a blanket

full of clouds.

Steel

Pain is my armor

that suits me well.

My doubts

secured in steel,

snuffing out the light,

stifling my every move,

but I am safe.

My joy is contained,

beauty muted,

but I am safe.

Connection with others

is difficult.

Friends can't seem to find me.

But am I safe?

It's been so long.

I forget what is underneath my armor.

What if everything beneath is what I need to see.

Truly see.

Maybe in my darkness

lives the pathway to truth,

joy,

peace,

life.

Care

Because I care

I welcome my pain.

Little and

Often.

Joy’s Song

Joy’s sweet song

softens my soul.

True Love

Can I give her the space to be who she is?

Can I give myself the space to be who I am?

Eating

Oh the surprise!

A new burst of flavor,

on the 36th bite.

Currency

“A smile is worth a $20!” - Man

Trust

Planning will not optimize my spirit.

There is no more satisfaction

to squeeze from this moment.

Willful

Each time I sit

I surrender my will.

A little.

Circles

Still walking,

Still Lost,

In the Great Mystery.
